A fantastic article by Discover Magazine! We’ve had paper wasps a few years in our yard, they haven’t been at all aggressive. Last year, we had a nest next to our front door. We left it there all summer, passing by the wasps and not once were we attacked. I was able to take photos as close as 2 inches away without alarming the hive (not suggested), so we left them alone.
Paper wasps are very beneficial to our environment. The kill and eat many insects which we find annoying plus they help with pollination. Many people blatantly destroy these wonderful creatures and their nests before doing research to find out what they really are all about.
